Description

  1. Oversee recruitment and selection activities required for the filling of positions for the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Tribal Council (TMTC) and Tuolumne Economic Development Authority (TEDA.).
  2. Plays an active role in the orientation and training for new employees.
  3. Conduct background checks on applicants under consideration (not licensing investigations).
  4. Responsible for the maintenance of all personnel files both physical and electronic.
  5. Maintain and update the Personnel Policies and procedures to ensure compliance and ease of use.
  6. Coordinate and acts as recorder for all TMTC Personnel Board activities and in the absence of Executive Director of Human Resources represents Human Resources in those meetings.
  7. Assists Risk Management in handling liability, workers compensation claims, applications, and appeals process.
  8. Assists Team Member Relations in handling TMTC Team Members complaint investigations.
  9. Conduct position classification reviews, analyze compensation rates and make recommendations on appropriate changes.
  10. Confers with and advises departmental management on a variety of human resources management issues including retention, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  11. Other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications


  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Bachelors degree in business management or human resources and/or equivalent human resources experience required.
  1. Must have a minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in human resource management and three years supervisory experience.
  2. Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance for all divisions.
  3. Tribal human resources experience highly preferred.
  4. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification is desired.
  5. HRMS/HRIS/HCM experience preferred.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  7. Must have strong computer skills with experience in all MS suite of products.
  8. Must possess excellent reasoning ability in conducting interviews, investigations and counseling of employees.
  9. Must be able to maintain extremely high level of confidentiality.
  10. Possess valid California Driver License and maintain current vehicle insurance, as this position requires driving.
